Who are the Paddock Singers?

We’re a 40 strong female choir who sing together in 2, 3 or 4 part harmony.

Established in 2007 we’ve developed our own glorious sound over the years, under the direction of Musical Director Ruth Kerr

Each of our performances is a celebration...

  • of music and its many styles - from Evensong at Chichester Cathedral to Chicago

  • of unexpected music - spooking unsuspecting pedestrians with a ‘Toil & Trouble’ flash mob performance in London

  • of creating an experience together – getting into the Christmas spirit with carols and old favourites

Come and join us for the next one

What do we usually sing?

‘Usually’ is misleading here. We cover a broad range of music, ranging from classical and traditional folk, to contemporary arrangements and musical theatre.

In recent years, performances have been many and varied and have included traditional cathedral evensongs at Chichester Cathedral, outdoor theatrical performances in collaboration with the Globe Theatre and Brighton Festival, and Christmas concerts in Lewes and at the Brighton Pavilion.

Our 2017 summer concert ‘Vivaldi’s Gloria and Other Girls’ was also a celebration of our 10th anniversary. Homemade cake and prosecco for all were followed by Vivaldi’s Gloria performed with a mini orchestra.

In the second half of the summer concernt we sang the Madrigal from Puccini’s Manon Lescaut, Eleanor Rigby and Michelle by the Beatles and Au Secours! From Bizet’s Carmen.
